Haute Couture Fashion Presented In Paris

More fashion news out of Paris his week; some of the top couture designers have once again gathered to show off their latest creations. French designer Jean Paul Gaultier used religion to inspire his designs while Giorgio Armani looked to India for his collection.
According to The Telegraph, Gaultier's haute couture collection evoked religious imagery of stained glass windows and icons. Some gowns were robe-like in jewel-toned silk and pastel chiffon with hooded cloaks, while others were detailed with angels and cherubs.
One model appeared in a long gown, printed like stained glass windows in a church, with a fabric rendition of a naked baby boy perched on her left shoulder.
Italian designer Armani previewed his collection at Paris' Museum of Modern Art. The costumes and regalia of the former maharajahs of India inspired his Prive collection.
Among those in attendance for the Armani showing were Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett and actress Katie Holmes.
